Negotiations are now proceeding regarding the price. The mine lias been 41 years producing, the output being from 150 to 200 tons daily. The produce is semianthracite noted for its good coke making quality suitable for smelting. About 60 inen are employed. The eapital outlay on the development has ex'ceeded £300,000. Acquisition would give the State control of all the Grey district collieries except the smaller cooperative mines.
