Received Wednesday, 10.40 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 11. The Jews and Arabs have definrfeely rejected the ndw British proposals for Palestine, says Reuter. The Arah reply was sent to the Foreign Minister today. Jamali, spokesman for the Arab delegation. at the London conference, said that the delegation rejected the latest. British plan. The Arabs considered the proposal suitable to form a basis of discussion. The head of the political department of the Jewish Ageney, Mr. i/Ioshe Shertok, at a Press conference, gave the Jewish Agency's reasons for rejecting thc British Government's proposals for a settlement of the . Palestine p?*oblems, which was presented to the London conference. * Mr. Shertok "said that, firstly, there was no certainty in the proposals as to whether there would be any Jewish immigration after the first two years. Secondly, regarding territory, the Jews, under the terms of the suggested scheme, found themselves hemmed in in their present positions, practically without any room for expansion and development. Thirdly, if the object of the suggested scheme was achieved, the Jews would in. five years find themselves in the minority in Palestine. Reuter says it is understood that the Arab reply reiterates the minimum Arab demands for an independent Palestine, with guaranteed rights for the Jewish minority. In Cairo today Amin el Husseini, the exiled Mufti of Jerusalem, told the' leaders of the Najada and Fetewa (the Palestinian Arabs' youth armies) : "There is now no other way to solve the Palestine question except by bloody revolution." A reliable Arab League source stated that the league intended to refer the Palestine question to the 3ecurity Council.
