TWO MEN INJURED IN COLLISION

A collision between a car and niotor cycle on a straight stretch of road on the Awahuri side of the . Xewbun cheese faetory shortly after S o'cIock last evening, had serious consequencefor the two men on the motor-cycle — Messrs Iv. Smith and Shine, of Ohaken — who were proceeding into Palmerston North. The, former suffered head iu juries and his conditiorr is reported as serious. The latter suffered a fracture of the right leg, but his condition n said to be satisfactory. Smith is serv ing with the Air Force at Ohakea, but the address of Mr. Shine was not avail able last niglit. The car was driven out of town b\ Mr. C. W. H. Schiavi. The impact re sulted iu a tyyre and tube being cut right tlirough as well as a niudguan' and front axle damaged. The forks of the motor-eycle were broken and the front of the machine otherwise severely damaged.
