MR. NASH ARRIVES BACK IN DOMINION
Auckland, Feb. 11. Wearing his fainiliar blac.k hat but carrying a gay panama with a red barnl, the Minister of Finance, ilon. W. Xash, returned to Auckland tonigkt by the Tasman Empire Airways flyingboat from Svdney, after attending the South Pacific conference iu Canberra which set up the South Pacific Regional Commission. He spent only a short time in the eity, having dinner before being driven through to Rotorua to joiu Mrs. Nash wlio is staying tliere. He said New Zealand 's fir.st move in support of the Coniniission would be, like the other five Governinents concerned,. acceptance of the agreenient as signed. Two eomniissioners and if practicable oue person as full-thne comniissioner, would lie appointed. They would probably be selected from the staff of the External AiTairs Department but that was a matter for the Prime Minister, who was Mimistei of External Affairs. " It was probably the most inleresting conference yet held by the dif'ferent nationalities in the South Pacific areas," commented Mr. Nash.
