Visiting relatives and inspeeting Queensland priniary industries a f'ormer queenslander, Mr. E. R. Aderman, a niember of the New Zealand Parlia 'ment, said New Ze^iland was not tht social paradise Australians had been led to believe. Grocery prices were 33 per cent. higher than in Australia electricity was rationed to two-third: of the population, go-slow methodt were being "adopted in industry, Communism was increasing, and thertexisted coal, cement, clothing, galvanised iron and housing shortages. The Australian housing shortage w.as not nearly as bad as New Zea-ltyrd but New Zealand had less industrial trouble. Mr. Aderman $aid trade should exist betw-een Queensland and New Zealand with Queensland supplyin^ tropical fruits and molasses.
