ANGLICAN WOMEN'S GUILD
FEBRUARY MEETING HELD Membe'rs "of ' the Anglicaii Women's Guild met at the residence jf Mrs. J. P. Allerby, Buckley, for Dheir February meeting. All the members greatly appreciated the day in the country and spent almost an hour in the beautiful gardens before the commencement Df the meeting. Mrs. E. L. Hyde, president of the guild, expressed the sincere thanks of the guild to Mrs. Allerby for her hospitality and presented her with a beautiful bouquet and a posy. In her reply, Mrs. Allerby stated that it was indeed a pleasure to have the ladies of the' guild present and hoped that at some future date they would do her the honour of having another meeting at her home. Mrs. Hyde extended a welcome to three new members and expressed sorrow that Rev. J. H. and Mrs. Datson could not be with them for the meeting. Mrs. Hyde pointed out that the next meeting of the guild would be the annual meeting, and asked that all members make every effort to attend. She also expressed regret that she would be unable to offer herself for re-election to the office of president owing to thp extreme pressure of business, but she would do her best to serve thchurch as a member of the guild. Mrs. Hyde took the opportunity of wishing Mrs. Munford a very pleasant voyage and a safe return to this country, as this would be tbr last meeting they would have Mrs Munford at before her departure on a holiday visit to England. All members joined in wishing Mrs. Munford "bon voyage." It was decidea that a letter and flowers be sent to Mrs. Chester, onc of the guild members who is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospit&l. Mrs. D. Jones offered to carry out the church duties for the month. During the afternoon a number of competitions were held, the winners being Mesdames D. Jones and J. Griffiths. A delightful afternoon tea was provided by. Mrs. Allerby. and was very much enjoyed by the members. At the completion of the meeting all members gathered in the garden and a photograph was taken as a lasting memento.of a very enjoyable day.
