HAMILTON, Feb. 7. After a retirement of four hoors ihe jury iast night returned a verdict of guilty on one count of murder aml guilty of manslaughtcr on anotiier, in the case in which Ivan Manfred Kahu, aged 29, a half-caste Maori, was charged before Mr. Justice Smith in Hamilton with murdering his wife. Hine Piri Kahu, and Massey Amund sen, at Manunui on December 3, 1945. The prisoner was found guilty o'. murder 011 !>oth counts a vear ago. bui an appeal for a new trial was ordered. The prisoner was sentenced to life imprisohment 011 the murder verdb t in respcet of Amuiidsen, and to 15 vears ' impi'isonment on the manslaughter charge in respect his wife.
