NURSES BUY CONVALESCENT HOME

WJfciDDnNGTON, Feb. ti. The acting Minister of Finance, Hon D. G Sullivan, in an interview today, indieated that nurses employed by the Wellington Hospital Board have fornied an incorporated society which recenuv purchased a property at Plinnnertol which wilJ be used as a convalescent home and later on as beach cottage ac vonunodation for nurses. It is the inten tion to have facilities at this convalescent home so that nurses who are re quired to have a short period of convalescen.ce before resumiug duty, can speml a few days by the seaside. Latei it is the intention to erect accoinmo dation so that the nurses may spend a portion of their annual leave at the sea side in cases where they are nuable tc obtain suitable accoinmodation else where. The Governmcnt was very interested in the provision of such facilities and had agreed to make £2(JU(J available tc the society so that the property mighi be purchased aml established in run ning order as early as possible.
