CHAMPIONS TG GOMPETE Included in the thirtyone events carded for the Levin Combined Amateur Athletic and . Cycling Club's grand ann-ual sports- on Saturday night are several champion cyclists and athletes. Appearing in the open cycling events in the one mile is the New Zealand champion F. D. Clinton, of Wanganui; also W. D .Williams, of Wellington, champion and ex-holder of the 100-mile road title, and A. H. Allen, of Feilding, West Coast ten-mile champion. In the junior cycling events are -J. Williams, of Wellington, junior champion, J. Williams,- of Napier, Hawke's Bay junior champion, and A. Higgs and D. Cheatley, Wanganui's leading juniors. In the athletic and field events are many outstanding competitors, including K. D. Galloway, champion high jumper and distance runner, L. Hawthorne, champion chree miler, A. G. Cozens, holder of the Harris Cup for the one mile run, which promises to be a very exciting race, as, if Cozens wi-ns he retains the ,cup for all time. Listed in the junior athletic events are many young and promising athletes, and very 'keen competition. will be in evidence. The committee has worked very hard to make this- meeting the outstanding event of the yeay, and with the entries approaching a record for the club this should call for the suppoft of the public in reeord numbers,. as the list of events carded is the largest in the. club's history. Given fine weather, a great evening's- entertainriient should be in store i'or all.
