' As a f es.ult one girl got into diffi- . culties -' and had to be assisted ashore by.. bathers. Before she was rescued 'she' had swallowe.d a pon siderable amount of salt water, Jand required resuscitation treatment, after whieh she was conveyeU to Mr. S. Rosvall's home. She was able to leave for her own home iater, little the worse for her experience. During the afternoon the Foxton Surf Club patrol assisted gwo other girls and a man ashore, but in no instance was it necessary to take the reel out.
