Whirokino Cut' The Whirokino cut continues to develop and is now normal river width, showin'g a decided tendency to erode away the northern bank. The elbow in the cut is now so pronounced that there : is quite a substantial beach on the southern bank near the middle. The top of the old river loop is now practically silted up. There • is only a narrow creek on the eastern side at low water, and this is but an inch or so deep. From there on to the ramp there is, very little water and it appears problematical as to whether the installation of floodgates in the ramp^U flush out the loop will prove effeVwe.
