Received Wednesday, 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 4. The Arab delegation at the Palestine conference in London has definitely rejected any form of particion, and the conference has been adjourned indefinitely. Meanwhile, the evacuation of nearly 2000 British women and children and a number of nonessential men began this morning in Jerusalem, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Tearful goodbyes and confusion marked the • evacuation, Wives and families gathered at military centres at the evacuation towns, and the evacuees travel-led in army convoy manner. Police posts were established every mile along the road from Jerusalem to £>ara.iancl from where, after staying one or two nights, the great majority will be flown in fourengined bombers to Egypt. The R.A.F. announced that the first flight of ten Halifaxes will take off eatlv tomorrow, each plane carrying seventeen passengers. The movement of families is expected to be comnleted by nightfall, when the Palestine Government hopes that all evacuees will be in the Sarafand or Haifa camps awaiting evacuation by plane, train or ship. As the last bus left Jerusalem, one husband said: "Thank God that's over. Now we can really g'et down to business." The Supreme Court again refused an apnlication by Gruner's lawyer for' leave to appeal to the Privy Council, but gave the lawyer permission to communicate directly with the Privy Council, which he has done by cable.
