' ROTORUA, Feb. 4, Two unrelates cases on the same niglit, of nien trespassing on the quarters of the domestic staff of the Rotorua llospital, were brought to the notice of Mr. «J. H. Luxford, S.M,, in the Magistrate's Oourt today. Senior .Sergeant N. S. Milligan, who prosecuted, said the hospital authorities had had a great deal of trouble in this connection. Tonnny Webber was chai'ged that he had been found on December 13 last in the domestic staff quarters of the {ios« pital without lawful exeuse. Senior Sergeant Milligan stated that at midnight defendant had been discovered in a passage-way and when ehallenged he had become abusive and caused a disturbance. He°added that there had been instances of men gojng up to the hospital after a dance and sleeping in any vacant bed. "This practice has to stop," declared his Worsliip. "In futuve conv'icted defendants would go straight to prvon. ' ' Webber was fined £5, an order for iinmediate paynient being niade, in default 10 days ' imprisonment. Of the other defendant, Sonny Wliite, who was similarly charged, tlie Henior-Sergeant relafed that one of the domestic staff had gbne to the room of her coinpanion at inidnight and found defendant in bed. He had also re« moved the globe froni the light socket. A number of girls collected and ordered him off the premises. He went bpt not before he had made some improper rentarks. In answer to the Magistrate, White denied that he had been in bed. . He was merelv lying on it. He admitted, however, that he had taken out the light. Stating that the case was a bad one, the Magistrate sentenced defendant to three ioeeks in gaol.
