TENNIS COMPETITIONS
Activity at the local tennis courts over the weekend was rather quiet. Ideal tennis conditions pre\ailed on Saturday anc a fair attendance of members gathered for club games. Sunday 's activities were also confined to cluo games. The present position ir. the Mitchell Pins competition, as • the lesult of a match played on January 23, when a challenge was inet from Miss F. Peni and H. Moore, the holders, Mrs. Higgott and Mr. K. Batt, retained their position by 40—31. In the ladies' "top dogs" competition Mesdames Pope and Graham defeated Misses C. Burke and P. Small 40 — 35. The men's -"top dogs" are still K. Batt and K. Thomson. Their most recent match was against H. Pope and C. Booker. whem theA' defeated 40- - 38. The most recent game in the ladies' ladder competitions was when Miss C. Burke lssued a ehailenge to Miss A. Pederscn, Miss Burke winning by 8 — 6.
