AUCKLAND, Feb. 3. A denial of Australian uewspaper charges tliat Mulloy liail offered to figh t a spectator at the Australia^ tennis chanipiouships aud that they had de maiided appearance nioney to play in exhibitionrf, was niade by the American Davis Cup players, G. Mulloy aud W. Talbert, who arrived at Auckland from tiydney by air today. The truth was, they said, that Mulloy poiuted to his racquet and ti.en at a persistent heckler in the gallery aud invited the heckter to do better if he could. They said they had received £o a day expenses uioney as arranged by the American Lavvn Tennis Association, but they vvould nPt discuss the suggestiou that another member of tYieir team might uave demanded more than £5 a day. The two players were rushed from the Tasman flying boat to Mangere where they left iu a Vega Gull aircraft for New Plyinoutli. From New Ply mouth they will fiy tomorrovv morning ti. Wellington to play exhibition matcho. agaiust 'New Zealand players at Lowei Hutt. On Wednesday they will play in Christchurch and fly back to Auckland in the afternoon to join the Pan-Aineri can clipper for San Francisco on Tlurrsday morning.
