' A Chinese wedding of interest will be solemnised at Wellington on February 11, whfen Mr. William Ping, of Otaki, and Miss Clare Wong will be married. Mrs. Goetz, Canon H. E. K. Fry's daughter, is staying at the vicarage. Squadron-Leader Goetz is in Melboinne, one of the R.N.Z.A.F. representatives at the aviation conference. Inia Tewiata Fund Additional donations to the Inia Tewiata fund are as follows: Previously announced £18 16s, J'ohn D. Brown £2 2s, Mrs. Rota Hohipuha and family £1, Mrs. Alex Wilson £1, G. A. Monk £1, E. P. Simcox 5s and Arthur Knox £1; total to date £25 3s. Garden Party The annuai garden party in connection with the Otaki Presbyterian Churcli will be held on Saturday, February 8, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Hickling, Waerenga Road. f Dance at Te Horo The Te Horo Younger Set's dances are still proving very popuiar and on Friday night there was another large gathering. A very pleasant time was spent by those in attendance. Another Win Another important win has been legibbered oy W. Conncr, the Otaki jockey, .who rode Beau Le Havre to victory in the Wanganui Cup on Saturday. Connor's handling of his mount was corsidered to be a credit to him. Girls' Life Bfigade The First Otaki (All Saints') Company formed a Guard cf Honour at the marriage of their Captain to Mr. R. Hillas. The girls parading were in charge of Lieut. J. Garlick, who received her commissionv a few weeks ago, and who was present at the conference of officers held recently at Christchurch. The Miller Cup at the end of the year was awarded to Muriel Bartosh, the Ngaire Fogden Cup to Doreen Bills and Juanita Fogden, and the names written on the Euhel Fry Memorial Scroll were those of Phyllis Fogden (senior) and Gillian Snell .(junior) .
