WELLINGTON'S RECORD TOTAL

When the totalisator turnover on the iinal day of tlie Wellington meeting was recorded at £250,245 10s, as against £214,745 for the concluding day of the 1946 three-day meeting, a New Zealand record for a four-day fixture was establisbed, the aggregate being £940,577 10s. This is more than £35,000 in excess of the £905,254, established at Ellerslie. The Wellington Racing Club 's sujiuner meeting turnover was £282,^00 10s above the £657,777 put tlyough at the three-day iixture last year.
