Downes) is calling a public meeting in Laur- , vig's Hall next Wednesday to : arrange a social evening to Mr. i and Mrs. L. G. Lowry as a mark of ; appreciation for the valued services they have rendered to the Shannon district during the eight years which Mr. Lowry has represented the Otaki electorate as meniber' of Parliament. During his term of office Mr. and Mrs. Lowry , have made many friends in the district.
