Eeceived Thursdav, S.20 p.m. CAXBLEEA, Jan. 30. The Prime Minister, M r. Ghifley, expects the annouueenient of the appointment of the new Governor-General w'ithin two days. He said todav that, jas indicated previously, he believed an annoiniecment would be made prior to ihe King's departure for Soutli Africa. This nieans that it might be delayed in Australia until Laturday. A for mai recommendation to ihe King is known to have gone forward. "Mr. Ghifley, of course, has never inentioned the nanie of Yrr. AIcTvell,'" says the Bydney Sun correspondent in Canberra, "but it'is understood tliat his statement to'lay is designed to relieve uneasines within tlie Xew Soutli Wnles Parliamenlary Labour Party vvhich wants to get its new leader into harness as soon as possible for tliis vear's eleetion."
