Weraroa scored an outright win over Shannon when playing at j 'Shannon ort ' Saturday in the Hall Shield competition. Shannon opened the batting and in their first innings made 45, Moore (10) being the only batsman to r.eaph :doublefigures"; Bowling fbr'1 Weraroa, Gurney took four wickets for 13 ■runs and Saunders ■ four for 28. Weraroa repiied with 174, Ryder contributing 70, including four sixes and nine fours. Moore was the most successful Shannon bowler, taking seven wickets for 58 runs. Shannon collapsed completely In their second innings, being dismissed for 30. Peach was the top scorer with 8. Gurney ; again returned good figures, taki ing four wickets for five runs. Otaki Loses to Levin Levin, with an elghty-three run margin, beat Otaki m their game . at Otaki. Otaki batted first and i compiled a total of 108 runs, , Heatherwick (41) and J. Bartosh • (22) being the main contributors. Hudson and Meads each took three wickets at low cost. Levin, in their innings made 191, Hudson retiring ' with 54 and Longton, who was later • injured, contributing 37. Bartosh • took four Levin wickets at a cost of ,22 runs.
