WELLINGTON, Jau. 27. Top price at the aniiual salc of mixed ruciiig stock at Trentham today was 2'> ") guiueas wliieh was paid for the Engnsh mares Clock Tower and Mirainiss. Clock Tower, a 19-12 niare by The liour from Pallet Crag, was bought by Mr. A. l'\ AL. Symes, Hastings, and Miramiss, a 1943 maro by Mid-day Sun from Miss jMischief, was pundiased by an ageut for a new stud which is being eslablished in the Wellington district. These mares were oifered on account of The Thoroughbred Export Coinpany. Two olhers in the same draft, Under Wav (by JNlichoumy) and Ada Eox (by Eearle-ss Eox ) were botli passed in at 1GUU guineas. Tliere was a keen demand for brood niares. Othcr goud prices realised were 12U0 guineas which JMr. T. C. Lowry, Okawa, paid for Green Note (by l'aper Money) ; 800 guineas which )lr. W. Nestor Bayr liss (Hastings) paid for ' lilud Garter (by Garter Blue). The s'tallion Kingmaster -vyas purchased for 750 guineas by Wright, SLephenson and C'o., Ltd., on behalf of a client in Soutli Australia. Tiderace was passed in at this iigure. The best price for untried stock was lliU guineas which Sir James Elliott paid for a three-year-old sister to Kevin. Prices were on a moderate level for horses in training. The two-year-old lilly Beekon brought the best price of 12U guineas, the buyer being Mr. J. J. Havward, Hunterville. Wliackie, a good spriater, wlio is now raeing over hurdles because lie is on the schooling list, brought 130 •uineas, the buyer being a patron of \\". J. Bromby's stable. Forlune's Smile was passed in at 800 guineas; Plying Orders at 550 guineas. Today 72 lots were soJd for an aggre gale of 20,810 guineas wliicli brought the lotal reaiisation for the live days' saies to 203,100 guineas.
