GIRLS' MARCHING DISPLAY ON SATURDAY

TEAMS HARD AT PRACTICE The public of Levin and the Horowhenua distriet generally will be afforded the opportunity of seeing the teams that will face the judges at the forthcoming Horowhenua show, when on Saturday evening the Horowhenua Marching Association stages its pre-show marching display on the Levin Park Domain, commencing at 7 o'clock. ' The two local teams, under their ccach, Mr. J. R. Macfarlane, have been. hard at practice this week, and on Tuesday evening they had the Horowhenua Pipe Band to assist them. Reports from Foxton and Shannon indicate that the teams in these two towns are confldent of giving a good display for their flrst appearance ' before the public. Another team has been fQrmed in Foxton, "Textiles," sponsored by N.Z. Woolpacks and Textiles, Ltd., and will also be over for the display on Saturclay. Levin has formed another team also, being sponsored by Macduffs, Ltd., and this team will be known as Macduffs. The association has arranged for l extra ligliting on Saturday evening, and the centre of the oval will be lit up, these arrangements being in the hands of Mr. J. M. Brown, who is taking charge in the absence of Mr. W. R. Jack. The Levin Municipal and Horowhenua Pipe Bands will be in attendance to assist the association, and the Municipal Band will play through the town to the domain, ieaving the bandroom at 6.30 p.m.
