Robsoii (Otago ) in thc final of tlie uieii '» singles at Ihe North Island, llawke's Bay and Waipawa tennis ehainpionships. Partnered, these two players won ti) o doubles from J. C. Charters (Hastings) and 11. Richardson (Gisborne), The wunicn 's singles was annexed by Miss M. L. Kerr (Otago) \\ ho defeated .Miss T. Grieves (Wanganui). Mrs. J. Adauis (Bouthlaud) and Miss Kerr won the women 's doubles and the eouibined doubles went to Robson and Miss Kerr. Robson took initialive in the men's singles, Barry niaking a few mistakes. However, tlie Auekiander reeovered gradually and sending over soiue good lengtii shots atlaeked strongly at the' not. 1 ii fact, Barry took the net morc frequentiy and was niore successful in Ihis regard. In Ihe second set Robson seemed lo have Ihe better of the deal being muru aggressive. Hc played a sound baekhand and also found good length with well-placed deliveries, the ball elipfiing Ihe Jine frequentiy. Barry's crosseourt doublehanded attacks caught liis opponent on the wrong foot frequentiy and from tlicn on he assumed tlie aseendancy. Wlien the gaine was 5 — 2 and love 40 on Barry 's service the Auekiander played for winners and eslublished a lead. This 18-year-old double-hander would appear to be a Daviu Gup prospect,
