Supreme Headquarters report that 6,443,628 persons in the Bacific were repatriated in 1946 which was ohe of the biggest mass transportation feats in history. More than 5,000,000 Japanese w.ere "brought home and 1,000,000 Chiiiese, Koreans, Formosans and Rytikyuaha were repatriated from Japdn. Ahout 82,000 Japanese remain in Southeast Asia and 13,000 in the Netherlands East Indies, but all are expected to he repatriated in 1947. The largest task reftiaining is iii fepatriating ahont 1,000,000 Japaiiese from Russiaix-held areas whence appfoximately 67,000 have already been returhdd.
