Manufacturers of clothing in New Zealand could. not yet look forwarcl to any increase in the q.uantity of many textiles reeeived from Britain as at the request of the British Govermnent several "big manufacturers of artificial fahrics had agreed to curtail their exports to provide more for home consumption, said Mr. Darcy Wright, New Zealand representative of British Celanese Ltd., who returned on Saturday in the Port Jackson from a seven months' tour which included Britain and Scandinavia. This might be a little hard for New Zealand, but it was most necessary for the henefit of the people of Britain. . The country was experiencing considerable difficulties but tbere was no doubt it would come successfnlly out of tbem. His company was still considering setting up a knitting and weaving factory in New Zealand, but it would probably be necessary to wait for laboiu- conditions to improve.
