ABOUT 100 CHINESE DROWNED

The Cliinese auihorities report mi.s.sing aboui 100 passengers and members of the erew ab9ard the wuoden ship Cliikiang, which sank earlv vesterdav after a collision at the "mouth of the Whangpoo River. First. reports estimated that at least 400 were drowned. Survivors who demonstrated outside the sliipping office declared that the Cliikiang was dangerously ov--rero\\d d and demanded eornpensution.
