w Personal Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Burgess and. their two daughters, at present on holiday in Paraparaumu, return to their home at Wellington tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Wilson, of Otaki, with their son, Martin, left for Auckland yesterday to meet their elder son, Max, who is on leave from Pago Pago. Pension Payments Old age pensions will be paid out on Tuesday, January 21, widows, etc., on the 22nd and war pensions on the 23rd. Bowling Tournament The Otaki Railway Club will hold a tournament tomorrow, when some of the rinks which took part in championship matches at Wellington will be present. ' Burglary at Otaki Some unauthorised person last evening stole from the till of the beauty saloon in Main Street the sum of -about £4. The act evidently took place while attention was being given a customer. Cadets at Paraparaumu Some sixty Air Training Corps cadets are in camp at Paraparaumu for a course . with the R.N.Z.A.F. They are from the town and school units in the central wing, from Gisborne to Wanganui in the north and to Nelson and Marlborough in the south. Cycles Stolen It is not unusual in Otaki and > various parts of the district for | cycles to be stolen, but the latest j comes from Waikanae, where a ! machine was taken from the rail- I way station, where it had been left ; while the owner went to work j nearby. Sports at Otaki The sports to be held at Otaki Domain on Anniversary Day should . be the means of attracting large : numbers from all parts of the district. Arrangements are in capable j hands, entries are large and racing, i both cycling and running, should ! prove interesting. The main at'traction will be the two champions from Christchurch. These athletes must be seen in action to be appreciated.
