PAEKAKARIKI DOMAIN
A garden party held at . Paekakariki during the holidays resulted in the raising of nearly j £140. The party, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Thompson, was the first of a series of moneyraising efforts sponsored by the Paekakariki Ratepayers and Beautifying Association to - provide funds for the improvement of the domain and the provision of a chiidren's play centre. The result of this first eftort is considered very promising, particularly as the jexpenses .were under £10. The { party was opened by Mr. H. J. Eat'well, member for the riding on the iHutt County Council, who was jintroduced by Mr. Thomson, presiident of the association. The success of the party was due to a willing band of helpers, who included Mesdames A. Donald, D. Stewart, Stedman, F. G. Thompson, Gifford, Misses Stedman and M. Thompson, Messrs. A. Donald, F. G. Thompson, D. Stewart, W-. Leak, J. S. Smith, Green, Wilson, . Mattar, Malcolm Smith, Mayo, J. Stedman/ iLafrentz, WooJward and Allison.
