The Misses L. and G. Black, oi Gore, who have been the guests oi Mrs. Wood, Venn- Street, have returned to their home. Mrs. D. Steward, of Whakatane, is spending a holiday in Shannon as the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Parr, Thompson Street. Mrs. J. England and her daughter, of Lower Hutt, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. Jones, Ballance Street. Miss N. James of Feilding, who has been holidaying witli Mr. and Mrs. Jones, has returned to her home. Euchre Winners There was the usual large gathering of players at the weekly euchre tournament conducted by the local branch of the Labour .Varty in Laurvig's Hall on Friday evening. The prize winners were Mrs. V. McEwen and Mr. R. Sands. Resident Doctor Possible The possibility of Shannon having a resident doctor was brought a stage liearer yesterday, when Dr. and Mrs. Wilson, of Timaru, visited the town to discuss the possibility of commencing prac'tice here. Dr. Wilson only had a shoi't time at his disposal, liaving to return early in the afternoon to Paraparaumu to connect with a return plane for the South Island.
