POLICE UPSET TAXI BOYCOTT

Eeceived Tuesday, 9 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 14. Despite the taximen 's boycott passengers arriving at Centyal Station today by inter-state and country trains were greeted with a line of waiting taxicabs. The reason vras that the police had tou'red the eity early and diverted empty taxis to the station to pielc up fares. The drivers ignored single fares early this morning, but later there was brislc competition. A speeial police scpiad based on the station engag.es in a round-up of taxis every time the supply appears to be running low. The drivers are ineensed at the Government action in terminating the legality of multiple hiring and will discuss the matter at a stopwork meeting tomorrow aftemoon.
