VISIT OF OVERSEAS BASKETBALL TEAM

After a postpouement of seven years, Australia will send a, teani of women basketballers to-New ;Zehland this year. Slie is a teacher of jihysical education in tlie Education Department. Miss Gill, who was playing in an inter-State carnival for tlie first time, made a big inipression on selectors. Their job, incidentally, was made more difiicult than usual by tlie fact that most of the players were unknown to them. This will.be Miss Gill's first expericnce in eaptaining a teani. It was a surprise to Yictoriaos when she was dropped from tlie team. The team, which is leaving in Augsut, will meet in Sydney for a week's intensive practice before thcy sail for New Zealand. Mrs. Pat Eoonev, secretary of tlie All-Australian Basketball Association, will nianago and coach the team, and Miss Ann Clark, of Sydney, is accompanying the team as unqiire.
