New Zealand owners and traiuers will be interested in the substantial increases in stakes for tlie A.J.C. Eastei meeting at Bandwiek. The prize fc the (Sydney Cup has been increased from ■coUOO to £6000 and the sweepstalccs from £30 to £40. A gold cup valued at £250 will go to the owner of the winner, which is £50 more than the trophv for the Melbourne Cup. This veu,r the Doncaster Handicao ( becomes the richest mile event in Australia, with sweepstakes of £35 and £3500 added. This is £500 more than the stake for last year's race. The prize for the A.J.C. sires Pro duce Stakes has been lifted from £3000 to £4000 with a sweepstake of £30, and the Adrian Knox Stakes a sjiecial race . for threo-year-old fillies over ten fur longs has been increased from £1500 to £2000.
