CF/NTRAh HAS SLENDER LEAD The annual competition between the Levin aqd Levin Central Bowling Clubs for the Bowater Memorial Tr.ophy has now reached an interesting stage. The first round, which was played early in the season, resulted in Central gaining 124 points and Levin 109, but in the second round last Saturday n.arrowed the lead by scoring 114 points to Central's 1,08, which now gives Central the slender iea.d of nine points. The flnal' and deciding round will be played on March 1. Lacey, S. Taylor, Holdaway and Hayes (s) 16. Rinks Championship The fourth round of the Levin Ciub's rinks championship will be played next Saturday and the following are the rinks: Hynes, Harvey, H. S. Powell and Burnham (s) two lives v. Gardiner, Atkinson, Larsen and S. F. Kilsby (s) two ives; Whitham, H. J. Henderson, Sherwood and Hill (s) one life v. W. Ward, Stannard, Hughes and A. O. Powell (s) one life; Nqble, Carmichael, O'Connor and Meads (s) one life v. Aldridge, Lett, Laurie and Mackay (s) one life; Hanson, Telford, Boulton apd Young (s) two lives v. C. S. Black, Reed, Spencer and J. Todd (s) one life. Rinks Tournament In a one-day rinks tournament held by the Levin Bowling Club during the weekend 12 rinks participated and a rink skipped by Lawrie (Otaki) secured five wins to t-ake the honours. The following are the number of wins scored by each rink: Lawrie (Otaki) 5 wins; Powell (Levin), McClune (Levin) , Wenham (Levin) and Childs (Levin) 4 wins; Dykes (Seatoun), Booth (Otaki) and Barrow (Seatoun) 2 wins; Murphy (Wellington), Larsen (Levin) and Moffatt (Wellington) 1 win; Ralph (Otaki) nil.
