District marriages for 1946 totalled 87, as against 57 in 1945; 13 cotfples were married by the registrar, as compared with 12 the previo.ua year. ^ Throughout the past year the birth rate has been gradually inereasing. Births reeorded! by the registrar totalled 191, an inerease of 53 oyer last year's total of 138;. Deaths have remained . fairly statie, 73 being reeorded against 79 in 1945. The following are the comparable frgures for December: Births 14 (II), marriages 10 (10), deaths 8 (5).
