NO DEVELOPMENTS AT AUCKLAND
AUCKLAND, Jan. 3. Today was the last working day on the wharves before the expiry on Monday of the Government ultimatum to suspend the Waterfront Industry Commission if the men have not resumed the- hours of work normally done before the dispute developed. They were 59 hours including 19 hours' overtime at week. No major developments in the] dispute were announeed today. A; stopwork meeting may be held early next week to diseuss. the attitude of' Auckland members of . the union in the light of recent developments but no meeting has yet been definitely called. The departure from Auckland today of two ships, the Port Hobart and Comliebank, will enable one ship to move in from the stream and provide a discharging berth for a second. which has been tied up at tlie gnd of the wliarf. Three ships will still remain at anehor tomorrow and.a't*' present there is little lilcelihood tllat they will berth before the end of next .week. Nine vessels, including the food ships Papa- . nui and Australia Star, are due by tlie j end of the coming week. j
