^ The Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, 1 underwent a serious o^eration in Amara Private Hospital on Friday , last. His condition is now reported . to be satisfactory. Mr. Burdekin [ will have the good wishes of a host ' of friends for a speedy and com- J plete recovery. J Sir Keith Park, who has retired from the R.A.F., left England re- 1 cently with Lady Park for Argentina where he will be trade ambas- c sador in South America for the 1 Hawker Siddeley Company, selling , fighters, bombers and aero engines in competition with the Americans. [ He is expected to return to London ' after four months. I
