CHRISTMAS WEEK TRAGEDIES
Received Sunday, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 29. During Christmas week 47 persons were killed and 179 injured in accidents throughout Australia. New South Wales heads the list with 19 killed and 23 injured. Victoria had 10 killed and 50 injured, the fatalities being due to railway accidents, drownings and fire. West Australia had the best record with one boy drowned, 10 persons j injured in road accidents and three I burned. 1
