Thomson, who began the lirst women 's bowling club in Wellington, at Island Bay. . , %f , The foundatiou of the new centre is hased on six clubs whose delegates were as follow: — Paraparaumu, Mrs. T. Iv. Henderson; Island Bav, Mesdames W. \. McLean and E. W. Drake; Carterton, Mrs. A. M. Clarke; Seatoun, Mesdames G. Dnnn and V .Allan; Petone Central, Mesdames Stocklev and A. Berry; Kilbirnie, Mesdames J. Barnett and W. Wallace. It is oxpected that clubs from Miramar, Naenae and 3Iasterfon will aftiliate shortlv.
