Cove Call in Tobacco Tin Searches by English women for husbands are apparently becoming keener. One woman, at least, has chosen an unconventional method of seek-ing a mate. A tin of English tobacco opened by a New Plymouth man recentiy contained the following message: "Josephine Mullen, aged 26; no raoney, no hopes, very willing. Trusting for 'an early reply." An address at Pitfield St., Shoreditch, London, E.I., is also provided, but no other essentlal particulars. Tanker Breaks Bown Advice has been received in Auckland that the 8400-ton British tanker Athelvictor, bound for Auckland from Abadan, in the Persiah Gulf, with a full cargo of fuel oil, has broken down as a result of engine trouble and is being towed to Brisbane. The Athelvictor, which was built at Dundee in 1941 for Tankers, Ltd., of Liverpool, was due here on Tuesday. It is probable that another tanker will be diverted to Auckland to replace the Athelvictor.
