The picture is "Dixie," and it's due to arrive next Wednesday and Thursday at the Renown Theatre, complete with twelvc songs — six new ones and six old ! t'avourites — and beautiful tcr.hnijcolour. This is the first time Holly[wood. has undertakcn to reproduce itlie kind of ontortainment that jfchrilled Aiuerica in the 1850's — those great minstrel shows of song and comedy. "Dixie" tells the |romantie story of how the Virginia ; MJnstrels came to be formed, by 'Dan Emmett, the man who wrote jtbe song. "Dixie." Bing Crosby iplays Emmett, and, ac.cording to Jreports, does Ihe best singing and acting of his career.
