SHANNON TENNIS TOURNAMENT
SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE 11ELD The Shannon Tennis Club held a very successful tournament/ on the local courts on Saturclay afternoon. ideal weather conditions attrac-ed a large gathering of inembers and a most enjoyable day resulled. Ihe ladies of the club provided a delightful afternoon tea. The winners of the senior section were Mrs. S. L. Graham and Mr. R. Lind, Junr., with 28 games each. The junior section was won by Rex Edrnonds with 27 games. The results of the senior section are as follows: — First round: Mrs. Graham and R. Lind 6, Miss Cronquest and H. Moore 2; Mrs. Jones and Coneybeer 2, Mrs. Higgott and O. Tippler 5; Miss Burke and C. Booker 4, Miss Small and A. Bell 3; Miss Clough and B. Lind 5, Miss Gardner and K. Batt 3. Second round: Mrs. Higgott and O. Tippler 5, Miss Cronquest and H. Moore 3; Miss Burke and C. Booker 8, Mrs. Jones and Coneybeer 0; Miss Small and A. Beli 5, Miss Clough and B. Lind 3; Mrs. Graham and R. Lind 4, Miss Gardner and K. Batt 2. Third round: Miss Burke and C. Booker 5, Mrs. Higgott and O. Tippler 2; Miss Cronquest and H. Moore 4, Mrs. Jones and Coneybeer 3; Miss Gardner and K. Batt 4, Miss Small and A. Bell 4; Mrs. Graham and R. Lind 4, Miss Clough and B. Lind 2. Fourth round: Mrs. Graham and R. Thomson (club captain) thanked the members for attending in such large numbers and making the tournament such a success. Mr. Thomson then presented the trophies to thc winners of the senior and junior sections, and extended ■ to thcni the congratulations of the club.
