WELLINGTON CENTRE MEETS

A meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held recently, when feeling reference was made to several members of the Wellington district who had recently passed away. The treasurer's statement showed a credit balance of £711 6s 9d. It was reported that for the Christmas fours tournament there were 92 rinks competing, wlaile the entry in the New Year pairs was 124. The Waikanae Club submitted a sample of the proposed colours of the club, but a decision was held over pending further information. The Public Service Association was granted permission to hold a oneday tournament on January 27. It was decided to make an official visit to the Raumati Club on Janqary 12 Invitations from Waikanae, Plimiand to Paekakariki on February 23. merton and Porirua Clubs were held over. The «■" Para'paravffni^ Beach and '■ Upper Hutt Clubs advised that their clubs considered that instead of a conference being held at the green research area, Palmerston North, it would be advisable to take greater advantage of the services of Mr. W. M. Horton. Mr. Parton raised the question of clubs having a notice on their respective greens regarding the size of the club's green or greens. It was agreed that delegates should arrange for a suitable notice to be placed-on their club's green. The president reported that he had attended a most successful -meeting in connection with the proioosed establishing of a, Ladies' Bowling Centre.
