Athol George Mulley, who became j fainous as thc rider of the champion liernborough and who annouuced liis retirement from racing earlier in the week, received notiiication on tlie eve of the ltandwick meeting tliaKlio had' been suspended from riding at the pleasure of the Australiau Jockey Clul^ Conunittee. No reason for the suspen sion has yet been given. Mulley will ask the committee to morrow why the action was taken. The cliairman (Mr. A. G. Potter) liusrefused to comment. Imniediate, who Avas liandy throughout the race, challdnged in the slraight but was outstayed. Hiraji Jinished lifth. After making a determined bid from the Legcr Slap Bomber looked a certain winner until Kiaree came through on the outside.
