RAILWAY SHUNTERS GET DOUBLE TIME
Received Fridav, 11 p.m. MELBOURNE, Dec. 20. Railway sliunters in Victoria wiiJ receive double time for all Bunday work under a judgment delivered by Judge Drake Brocknian in the Arbritration Court today. The Judge det'erred a general application by the Victorian brancli of the Australian Railways Union for double time for Suiiday work for all railwav eniployees. A cost of perhaps niore thfin £1,000,000 is ini volved in the general application. Tlte Judge ruled that to concede a principle involving this Jarge Government expendilur'e throughout Australia would place a burden on Australian economy which it could hardlv be required to nieet without the Court being assn roa that it could bear it.
