Personal Mr. and Mrs. Amos, of Wellington, will spend the Xmas and New Year holiday's in Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Dickson and Mr. and Mrs. Marle Noble, leave shortly for Rotorua on holiday. Mr. and Mrs. C. Moore leave on Monday for a tour of the North Island. Their first stop will be Dannevirke. "Buster" Fox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fox, of Otaki Railway, who has been in England for some time, is at present on holiday in Otaki. The funeral of the late Mr. Ken Taylor took place yesterday, when there was a very large attendance. The la?t sad rites were administered by the Rev. W. B. Pickering, while a number of lovely floral tributes were placed on the casket. The bereaved have been the recipients of many sympathetic messages. Athletic Sports Sports will be held on the Otaki Domain on Thursday evening, commencing at 6.30 p.m. A full programme of events will be staged. Otaki Post Office Hours On Tuesday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 31, the usual hours of attendance will be observed at the Otaki Post Office, with final' mails closing at 4.45 p.m. (southern) and 5 p.m. (northern) on each day. On Friday, December 27, the office will be open during the day, but will not reopen between 7 and 8 p.m. On Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, and Januarv 2 all branches will be closed excebt the telephone exchange, which will observe continuous service.
