Leaders fear that unless coal supplics can be increased witliin a few weeks, the shedding jf) f loads by electricity undertakings will cause a widespread closing of factories. The Leyland Motors iron foundry near Preston closed today for a fortnight and 600 workers were stpod off becausc of the exhaustion of coke stoeks.
