AUCKLAND, Dec. 17. Hopes for success of the current discussions in Wellington on the 40-hour week on the waterfronts were held to day both by waterside workers and eniployers at Auckland. The inajority of the workers are anxious to gain the (inancial assistauce of overtime at this season and the eniployers are awaiting for au opportunity to clear the aecumu lation of vliips and cnrgoes. After touibrrow's waterfront payout there will be only oue more payment before Christmas and the hoped-for settlement may yet add to the next pav ouvelope.
