NATIVE FLORA CLUB
MEMBERS' ANNUAL MEETING The recent annual general- meeting of the Levin Native Flora Club was attended by 23 members. Mr. I. D. Parsons presided, and apolor gies for absence were received from a number of members unable to attend. Mr. Parsons reviewed the work and growth of the club since its inception six years ago, when on the same date as this'latest meeting nine people met together and decided to. form 'themselves into a club. The majority of those nine were still keen and active members, and many others had joined. In addition to the senior club, a junior club had been formed at the Levin Primary . School, and this had also made much pxogress. The junior club was now divided into two groups, comprising a total of over 90 pupiis. Several very interesting lectures had been delivered to the members of the senior club during the past season, and members were' very grateful to the speakers. Special thanks were due for the use of the schoolroom for meetings, and to Mr. J. A. Goodwin as honorary auditor. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: — President: Mr. I. D. Parsons; vicepresidents: Messrs N.'McN. Thomson, A. H. Smith and W. H. Griffiths; hon. secretary: Mrs. W. Duguid; hon. auditor: Mr. J. A. Goodwin, The club will continue to hold its meetings on the fourth Thursday in each month, but as the annual meeting always comes at such an inconvenient time, the members decided that in future the financial year should terminate at the endof October, So that the annual meeting could be held in November. An c outing was planned for Docember 29 to some riverside bush along Gladstone Road extension, and members arranged to meet at the Levin Post Ofiice at 10 a.m. on that date.
