GHKlSTCHUiiOH, Dee. 15. Caplain Gharles H. Gpliam, V.C. and Bar, is in Christchurch Public Hospital sulfering from fairly severe bunis to oue of his legs. He received his injuries when pelrol leaking from a lamp he was using 011 his farm at Rata Downs, -Nortli Canterbury, ignited. Capt. Upham also suft'ered severe shock ;md it is likely that he will be in hospittil for several vveoks. He made the long journey from his farm to Christchurch by truck on Friday, having ref'used to eall the services of an ambulanee. His condition was said to be satisfactory by the hospital tonight.
