ANGLICAN LADIES' GUILD
WELL ATTENDED MEETING There was a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Anglican Ladies' Guild, both Rev. J. H. and Mrs. Datson being present. The president, Mrs. E. L. Hyde, in prescnting hcr report oji the recently held sale of work, thanked all for tlieir assistance and said that wltliout such help so mucli could not have been achieved. Mr. Datson paid a personal tri- ! bute to all for the way ihe sale of [work was conducted and the magmliceiit results obtained. A sincere tribute was pald to Mrs. Hyde, and he thanked her for all the work she had put ioto the guild, and to Mrs. C. Parr,«tlie secretary, who had worthily supported her. Mrs. J. P. Allerby presented fragrant bouquets to Mesdames ' Hyde and Parr, and also to Mrs. Datson. A motion was passed tliat letters of appreciation be sent to Messrs. Selwyn Hyde and Tom Walker for their assistance. Mrs. E. Collins reported on visits paid to4he sick during November, and intimated that she and Mrs. C. M. Cronquest would continue with this duty for the month of December. Mrs. and Miss Allerby voluntpered for the care of the church uhs month. ..Mesdames E1 vines and Wylie served a dainty afternoon tea. The winners of two competitions held were Mesdames R. P. Lester and I. | F. Leng-Ward. The guild will not I meet in January and Mrs. Allerby's |kind invitation for the February meeting to be held at her home at Buckley was accepted with thanks, and arrangements made that members meet at the post office at 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday in February for transport to Mrs*Allerby's home.
